Introduction to the Pioneer LX6090
The Pioneer LX6090 is a very well featured plasma TV. It it has an impressive technical specification detailed below. Be sure to review the picture quality factors as they are quite special.
The TV has a huge sized 60" screen. Pioneer are particularly able when it come to making these bigger sized screens and have a reputation for using high quality components and for attaching higher price tags than other TV manufacturers. Please read on for more information about this desirable if slightly pricey plasma TV.
The Overall score for the Pioneer LX6090 does not take into account the price! Here is why. The price will obviously vary from place to place. Also, as the model becomes older many retailers are likely to reduce the price. By excluding the price from the overall rating, you can accurately compare the Pioneer LX6090 against newer/older models when looking for more features/a bargain.
Also consider, if you can get a TV with 7/10 for £500/$500/€500 and an equivalent TV with 8/10 costs £800/$800/€800 then almost certainly the 7/10 scored TV represents the best value for money.
The easy way to choose a TV and to know if the Pioneer LX6090 is for you, is to decide exactly what you want from a TV and then look for one that has all/almost all those things, a good score and of course the best price.
Picture Quality. 9/10
So what makes a great picture?
*unknown, but better than any speciffically stated contrast ratio. | So, properly calibrated this TV will will be amongst the highest quality of any TV (at time of review). The 60" screen and top specification pixel resolution along with exceptional contrast ratio, will give this TV a big edge over many of it's competitors. Although, as previously mentioned, for the price (at time of review), so it should! There seems to be a lack of availability with regard to response time and brightness but the other specifications speak for them and I wouldn't let their absence put you off. As usual I would suggest the UltraBlack picture enhancement is nothing to get excited about, but again don't let it put you off this TV probably does not need any enhancement. |
Sound Quality. 8/10
Here is how the Pioneer LX6090 rates for sound.
For built in sound this is great. But the price tag on the TV combined with the picture quality and presence of optical audio would make it a crime not to add a good quality separate sound system. |
|
Connectivity. 7/10
| Just about everything you would expect. For such a 'top of the range' model perhaps a fourth HDMI socket would have been nice. Not essential though. However, please check to make sure anything specific you might require is included here before purchase. |
Significant Features. 7/10
Not much to say, the table and the explanations speak for themselves. Hover your mouse cursor over the blue i, to get more details. |
|
Anything Else. 6/10
| As you can see there are a few extras on this TV as well. 999 channels is good but not a buying decision clincher. |
In a nutshell, this TV is an absolute stunner! But be prepared to pay for it if you want one!
